Multiplying with money dollars and cents.

Multiplying money is the same as Multiplying whole
number
and decimals except you use the money and cents
signs.

Example word problem:
A pack of crayons is 40¢. You bought 5 packets. How much did
you have to spend.

Do the multiplcation
step2
Count how many
digit is behind the
decimal. There is 2,
so count over two
spaces and put in a
decimal point.
Answer is $2.00
$40¢ as a decimal is 0.40
Example word problem2:
A bag of apples costs $4.23. How much would it cost to buy 6
bags of apples?
